I have some cash stored away and have been waiting on the new bulldozer chip reviews to decide if i'll go with the 8150 or an intel 2600k.
I use photoshop, code stuff, so wouldnt mind the extra threads, but also am a gamer at heart.
I have decided im going to treat myself to a complete new system, case, kb/mouse, 16gb ram, etc. including a nice big IPS screen and retire my current Q6600 (@3ghz), 4GB DDR2, 21" monitor, original ATI saphire 5870.
I want to play RAGE, Skyrym, BF3 on this new rig, but im wondering if, with the extra hoursepower i'll get from upgrading I should hold onto the 5870 for now and wait it out until the 7 series comes or should I just retire that too and get something that currently on the market?
Im guessing the 5870 will be maxed out with the new equipment, but will it still play at an acceptable framerate to tied me over until the new gen of cards?
