New Build Slow, Run Tests?

Hi,

I just finished building a new PC today. I updated all the drivers and done all the windows update but for some reason I feel it is lagging or getting slow at times, which shouldn't happen especially on a clean build and with these specs:

AMD Ryzen 1400
Zotac GTX 1050
HyperX Fury 8GB
WD 1TB HDD
XFX XT 400W

It may just be my imaginations because I am used to using my own PC which has a SSD inside it and is a little more powerful but is there any kind of tests etc I should run to make sure the PC is running at the proper speeds and effect?

I think it is the lack of not having an SSD in your new system and having one in your other system, but you could also use task manager to see how much ram and cpu are being used .

I ran WD Lifeguard on Quick Test and it passed. I then ran MemTest for 30mins and no errors..

Currently running SFC SCANNOW to see if its a windows file error.

I know what you mean about me being used to the SSD but something still doesn't feel right, even opening folders has a delay or freeze of sort.

Thermals are fine, Task manager CPU and MEM are normal, lucky if they hit 50%. The only one that ever hits 90+% is the HDD.

For instance opening the NVIDIA panel in the taskbar, after a second the window comes up but its white... then after another few seconds it loads.. Does it pretty much everytime. Just seems to be unresponsive.

I looked in device manager and everything is installed, only thing I seen a lot of posts pointing to was the Chipset driver but I don't see that in my Device Manager, where would it be?

Ended up running a test on my USB stick which came back write errors, re-installed windows using a dvd-r and so far I have ran scannow twice with no errors..

Finished installing everything, re-ran scannow and came back no errors. Here was Cinebench/Valley results:

So I can assume that is the PC all set up and good to go

I will mention it to them. They had a tight budget which I had to extend to be able to compensate the Elgato HD60S..

But when I drop it in to them I will mention SSD is probably the best upgrade he could do right now... even if its just a 120GB to start him off..
