Alright guys, just finished upgrading my motherboard and processor to an MSI P67A-GD65 with i5-2500K with a coolermaster hyper 212 plus (included with the mobo). Note this is at stock, no overclocks have been applied yet.
Now windows has installed fine, and is fully up to date, with all drivers etc.

Firstly I think my temps are too high, whenever I go into the BIOS utility my temp shows as being 45'C which seems a little high for an aftermarket cooler? Hardware monitor however shows my CPU temps varying between 28'C and 34'C whilst on the desktop. (accross all cores that is) Also it seems a lot noisier than I expected, which is explained by the fact my CPU fan is also reported to be on 100% along with the 2 case fans which are plugged into the motherboard. Should I re-seat the cooler and is there a setting I can change to reduce the fan speed or make it temperature dependent or something because it seems to be blowing a large amount of cold air into my room :D.

Another random problem I seem to have is with my USB headset (speedlink medusa NX 5.1 gaming headset). I cant get the microphone to work at the same time as the audio output. It's either one or the other. If i try and chat with my mates on steam chat I can hear what they are saying but the microphone seems to be disabled somehow. however If i go to devices and pick the microphone they can hear me but it the disables my audio output! very odd.

Any suggestions or feedback greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

And we have been getting some really hot weather st the moment as well.
Im using a Silver Arrow cooler and my CPU is hitting 34c at idle but goes up to about 45/50c under load so i just put it down to the weather.

ok thanks, i'm a bit less paranoid abut the temps now :) now if only i can get it to reduce the fan speed and work out how to get my audio going properly...
