Recently I build my new system. It is all reasonable high spec hardware.
Sometimes, at windows start up it is seeming very sluggish for the spec.
Spec as Follows
AMD Phenom II x4 970 (black edition) with aftermarket cooler (huge one)
4gb DDR3 Ram, Corsair XMS 1600
Gigabyte HD5770 OC 1gb ddr5 Grapics.
Gigabyte MA790FXT-UD5P AM3 Mother board
WESTERN DIGITAL 1TB , SATA2 64mb cache
Xigmatek Utgard Midi Tower Case, with an Evo Labs 900w PSU
CPU Temps
Currently running world of warcraft, My cpu temp never goes above 38 degrees C
On idle this drops to around 25 - 28 degrees C
A few questions is
Is there any reason the system above should sometimes be sluggish, by sluggish i mean from pressing the "power on" button to getting into windows can take some time.
I have noticed, It does take time to load my Kaspersky antivirus (which i can understand)
It can sit on the "welcome screen" after password input for upto 20 seconds where as other times it can be half this.
My other question. I have never over-clocked before.
Should i do some reading up and look to over clock this system? If so, What gains would/should i see?
Would it really be worth it?
Also, would it be worth going for an SSD?
thanks
