Hi all,

Have been saving for a new build and want to start deciding on a spec to last good few years.
I want the build to be cool and quiet.

Main uses are:
Gaming
Recording
Editing
Streaming

Being that twitch's maximum stream resolution is 1080p I have thought of sticking with 1080p screens.....
I have a budget of £5300 +- a few quid.

Now I have already starting to add things to basket to get some idea's, see below:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £4,987.67 (includes shipping: £39.06)

A few potted thoughts as I'm about to go out.

Take a look at Fractal Design's Meshify cases for better ventialtion.
Now is not the time to be buying a 2080 Ti. Rather, buy a lesser card now and replace it with the next generation of cards when they are released later this year. Set aside £1000 of your budget for that. The 2080 Super will give you 90% of the performance for 70% (or less) of the price.
Your PSU is overkill unless you are going Threadripper.
Just buy one 2TB NVME drive.
IPS monitors, not TN. And why three? Get a 4K monitor or one 3440x1440 or 5120x1440 monitor. Having two monitors is a good idea, but they don't need to be the same resoultion or size.

Do consider Threadripper - 3960 or 3970.

4k, 3440x1440,5120x1440 all resolution's that twitch does not support.
Maybe best to wait for when the new gpus are released.

For me Threadripper sounds like overkill. Where I think the 3950x will be better suited for the gaming side of things.
an 850w platinum power supply maybe?

Thanks

There's nothing stopping you gaming at 4K - or any other resoultion - for yourself and 1080p when you stream. You can also stream at higher resolutions on other platforms.

You could knock a lot of money off that build without losing any performance.

A Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite/Pro would save £190/£140 respectively. Even the X570 Aorus Master saves you £50.

You could easily go with an R9 3900X. The 3950X will be faster for editing, but unless you are doing it for a living then it probably isn't worth the extra over the 3900X.

The psu as mentioned is overkill. I would go with a Corsair RMi 750W.

You can get 32GB Corsair LPX DDR4 3200MHz for £140.

Do you need all those SSD's ? I would get a couple of 2TB NVMe like the Corsair MP510. Even the Intel 660p 2TB would do fine as your 'Gaming' SSD. I don't think Gen 4 is worth it for the price hike. A Gen 3 will be more than fine for your usage.

A BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 or Noctua D15 Chromax would be my choice of cooler.

You can use a 1440p monitor just fine on Twitch. You can downscale to 720p or 1080p etc. So I would go with a 27" 1440p IPS 165Hz like the Gigabyte Aorus monitor and then just have standard 60Hz IPS as the two non gaming screens.

So just as a rough idea. Just add a couple of IPS 1440p or 4K for the non gaming screens.

Phanteks P600S is a pretty nice case. You have the sound dampening but can also take the front and top panels off for max airflow.

Not sure how much storage you want, but added just under 6TB. So the 660p can be used for running the games/OS from, the MP510 for the video editing and the SATA for general storage. You could chuck a mechanical drive in there, but they can be noisier.

The Corsair RMi is a quiet unit, and the Dark Rock Pro 4 is also nice and quiet. The D15 Cromax is a bit more expensive if you prefer Noctua.

The gpu can be changed to the 2080 Super if you want to wait for the next Nvidia cards. Even a 2070 Super would be fine for the short term.

The Gigabyte monitor is pretty good, but you can check out reviews of other 1440p if you go for that resolution.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm going to take a look at your ideas and I need to rethink the screen situations. Must admit flight sim is coming soon(I hope) so triple sounds like a nice idea for that :P Also need to rethink storage.
