Was thinking if this, always wanted water cooling and SLI.
Just for gaming. SLI and monitor are exspensive, but worth it I think.

Nice. Some would say I'm sure that you don't need to spend that much on a mouse or headset, but if you can afford it I bet they will be lovely :)

Great rig overall.

yea, I wasn't sure on the mouse, I had a razer last time, 3600 dpi, so thought 5700dpi can only be better?
Headset, never had one, 5.1 seemed good, don't know if its very noticeable or not?

hmmm, thinking of not getting the custom water cooling, build similar and put on an Antec H20 cooler.

so many ways to spend 2k!!

I was planning on own build till I saw the above PC with water cooling, but was its only the CPU im swinging back to build myself, with perhaps a clocked bundle to guarantee a high clock.

Build yourself if you can, the sandybridge CPUs are good overclockers anyway. Do you require everything? PC, monitors, peripherals, OS etc...?

EDIT: ignore that. Just re-read the OP and title :P

hmm, seems just as exspensive.

Yes, I need everything, except a chair, lol

Now thinking this monitor, same width, lot cheaper. Not much advantage with 1200 instead of 1080p in gaming?

You can do the overclock yourself I assure you :) Plenty of guides and help on here too.
Better SSD (M4 is always recommended atm)
Best single GPU atm, can SLI if you prefer but I'd go with 2GB models.
PSU, either of these are good (the Corsair or the XFX)
Case is personal choice
Picked the keyboard/mouse/headset you'd chosen

EDIT: or what RJC specced :P

Again I'd say monitor is a personal choice, and it depends how much you want to spend. 1080p is good for gaming. Perhaps not worth £170 just for those extra pixels. I have a 1200p monitor though and I prefer it! Either monitor is good.

Thanks for the builds :-) always nice to see other peoples ideas.

Clocking is not a problem, dont it before on a few PC's.

Trying to find a comparisons between 7970 and 560 sli'd, but AnandTech dont do 2011 and 2012 together.

I was thinking of changing the monitor to a dell 23" 1080p ultrasharp and maybe 1 x 570GTX and water cooling the whole thing.
I know its a drop in GPU performace, but could SLi later on.
