Hey all, right upgarde time for me. Have around £700 to £750 maximum to spend on the machine, use is going to be for films and games. Put together a rough idea to what I would like below.

If anyone has any feedback or possible tweeks that would make the machine that bit better then I would appreciate your knowledge.

your missing a cooler for your OEM 2500K cpu ( OEM is just the cpu only & doesn't come with a cooler ). + why buy a 2500K chip & then put it in an H67 board, as the 2500K is unlocked for overclocking, but the H67 boards don't support overclocking.

If your getting a K chip then its worth getting a P67 motherboard for some overclocking fun.
Something like the Asus Pro will keep your options open.
You will also need a CPU cooler as you have gone for the OEM chip which comes without a heatsink.

Personally I wouldn't go for a micro-atx board to go in a tower case, if you do go with the micro atx board you'll have to carefully consider what cpu cooler to use to allow you to use all 4 RAM slots.

Cheers for feedback allready have an arctic cooler 7 cpu cooler which is why there is none included. :)

To be fair im not a massive fan of overclocking ( never have done it ). Id have thought this cpu would eat anything I could throw at it overclocking or otherwise?

Well you are right there it will eat most things alive. Presuming you have free shipping then this is £2 over your budget:

Thanks for the feedback Robbie! Loving the case + PSU combo, for the same price as what i chose its a steal. :)

if you swap out the Asus P8P67 PRO for an Asus P8P67 B3 it comes in £13 under budget, & the 2 boards are essentially identical, the difference being the vanilla P8P67 doesn't do SLI, where as the PRO does which is no loss if your not planning to do SLI. ;)

Have a quick question is the B3 revision mobo's the new type which dont have the problem which was happening with the old type. I think the problem was something to do with some of the old sata ports or something.

From OCUK website:
- Potential Sandybridge issue:
- In some cases, motherboards featuring the 6 Series Chipset (P67 & H67) that have Sata devices connected to ports 2-5 could potentially degrade over time.
- Motherboards with devices connected to Ports 0 & 1 remain unaffected or using the 6Gb/s ports.
- Please note if your board is affected by the above issues, your statutory rights remain to RMA the board.
- Tests have found that under 5% of boards are affected.
- PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO POTENTIAL ISSUE TO SANDYBRIDGE PROCESSORS

thats correct, B3 or Revision 3 are the fixed boards, B2's are the duffers. ;)

There is more than just SLI difference between these two boards.

Taken from another site:

With the Pro you gain:
one more PCIe 2.0 x16 slot for a total of 3 x PCIe 2.0 x16 slots
Support for NVIDIA SLI Technology including 1 x ASUS SLI bridge connector
JMicron JMB362 SATA controller for 2 x External SATA 3.0 Gb/s ports
Intel 82579 Gigabit LAN (instead of the Realtek 8111E Gigabit LAN on the non-PRO)
ASUS Q-Shield
ASUS Q-LED (CPU, DRAM, VGA, Boot Device LED) (the non-PRO only has an LED for the DRAM)

Also the PRO has additional Back Panel I/O Ports and USB 3.0 Bracket.

OP might not need these, suggest you check the Asus website for the full specs of each board. You can compare the boards and see the full differences.
