I'm going to build a PC (first time) around when I get Win 7 at the end of October, but can't decide between Intel/AMD and nVidia/ATI. It will be for gaming, general internet/office use, maybe some photo/video editing aswell. I currently own a laptop 2 years old so anything will be a big step up in performance for me

I was also considering the AMD Phenom II 955 & ATI 5850/5870, but I was thinking maybe the nVidia GTX300 series might be better.
Will that Arctic cooler be good enough, if I did some overclocking?
Finally I'm not sure what I'm looking for with the p55 mobo's so I picked one that I heard a lot about on this forum, so can anyone can suggest a better one at a similar price?
