New Build Spec Me Please

Ok guys doing new build after xmas going back to intel had nothing but trouble with the amd build in my sig.

I have roughly £2000 to spend on a gaming system and I have already had a go myself but keep changing my mind lol and I want to see what you lot can come up with so lets see what you can come up with guys.

Its just the PC itself Im after I already have OS, monitor and keyboard ect.

Is there anything you can salvage from the build in your sig, PSU, HDD, cooler, case ect?

Nope everything new want a smaller case should have mentioned that hehe, the new case needs to have filters hate cases not having them.

Why would he need a 3970x for gaming?

For £2k and considering he's at 1440p, a dual GPU i5/i7 rig is the way to go.

2K is a lot to play with for a tower

Add a second 7970 (it won't let me add one as they are on Today Only)

It may be worth looking into a custom water cooling loop, although you may want to get a bigger case.

Could go for 7970's but dual 7950's smash 1440p so why bother? These were chosen because they run quiet and dump all the heat out the back of the case. Handy if you're xfiring.

I wouldn't normally spec an H100, but with a good set of fairly quiet fans, its a viable option if you like to keep things neat. Not the best price/performance with the additional fans though.
A big cooler would only cover up the pimp ram if you used a front fan

We could argue about whether an i7 is worth getting over an i5. Some say there are gains to be had in xfire/sli. The budget's there, so why not?

Still plenty of room to play.
