Hows this looking?

Few things:

Im not sure what graphics card to go for, i want an nvidia one, im not a mass gamer but i want something at a decent spec.
The power supply, enough power etc?
Is the motherboard a good one?

Cheers

i dont have a specific budget in mind! probably no more than £1300 max! I do no need a monitor etc so thats dedicated to the system.
Nope no overclocking and preferably not intel...i have a thing against them.

taking waht you said into account

for a GPU, i would cosider a 8800GT if funds allow.

i would also consider a more powerful PSU, maybe about 500W to be safe.

unless you dont like seagate or western digital, i would look at them for HDDs. i dont like maxtors

you may also have to buy things like drive bays and other accessories for the 343b, im not sure on this so wait for soemone to confirm this before acting.

also check if the problem that appeared some tiem ago with the phenoms has been eliminated first before buying.

also consider getting some long SATA cables to make it easier to build, this will depend on how you set the case up though

Ok thanks for that. Yeah i think i could fund the 8800GT.
Yeah you are probably right, i think i'll go for the 580 *** tagan.

Thanks, yeah i am aware of the situation with the 343b and all its required additions...the only down side to that case!

Sorry can i just ask, what was the problems with the phenoms?
and is there much difference with the AMD Phenom Quad Core 9600 and the AMD Phenom Quad Core 9600 Black Edition?

black edition has unlocked multipliers, making it very good for OCing. the normal one does not, both are quad, and both should come with a HS&F accordign to OCuk

I wouldn't get an old 590sli chipset board with that new phenom, I know the crosshair was much recommended at the time but it's ageing now. Also, anecdotaly, seems some people had reliablitly problems.
Instead, an ATI 790X board would be cheaper & better, especially since you'll probably never need dual graphics. They also have PCI-E 2.0 support which may be useful in the future.

As the most excellent gentlemen jak731 and Quixote have already stated, look at the new 790FX boards and consider a higher PSU (like the Corsair HX520) and different brand of HD.

You AMD addict you! Give me a P, give me a H, give me an E...!!

ok thanks for that, so im now looking at the
Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe/Wi-Fi AMD 790FX (Socket AM2+) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

does this support an Nvidia graphics card or do i have to go with ATI?

It supports any nvidia graphics card but not two in SLI mode. As for specific compatibility issues I have no idea but it seems unlikely any recent graphics card would have problems (after all, the M3A32-MVP is newer than they are).

Ask yourself, do you need to spend £140 pounds on a motherboard ? The main advantage of the 790fx chipset over the 790x chipset is dual 16* pci-e lanes. This might give 10 % advantage if you are using 2 graphics cards, plus any other features the board offers, but (and be very clear about this) Your Computer Will Not Go Any Faster. As a "not a mass gamer" it would be madness to buy A £140 MOBO.#
You should buy this Mobo : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-094-MS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=808

You will never notice the difference
