I'll be building a new PC at the end of this month, my current one is an old LGA775 build and it's very outdated now.

I will be using the new build for browsing, movies and some gaming, but it'll only be light gaming so I don't need a really expensive graphics card but I still do want a decent one.

I really don't think I'll be able to afford anything over £500, so if it could be kept under this figure, that would be superb.

I have a monitor, KB+Mouse and OS already, so it's purely just the system I need.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I take the most taxing thing you will be doing is gaming then? What sort of games are we talking and what resolution :)

See that's the thing, I'm not even sure what PC games I'll be playing in all honesty. Can I say the 'latest ones'? :p

Resolution will be 1920x1080.

Cheers

Latest ones like Chrysis 3, the new Metro, Dead Space 3, BF3? :p

For those sort of games a 7850 for £150 would be nice :) Its quite a bargain really for what you get.

A 7770 gives less than half the performance at 2/3 of the cost so its your choice. Alternatively you cna grab a second hand 460 . 6850 which are both better than the 7770 and a lot cheaper.

Worth noting the difference between the 2 mobo's here :)

The MSI has a nicer warranty and RMA and has a free cooler but is volt limited so overclocking is down to whatever you can get on stock volts. The Asus on the other hand is not voltage locked so more overclocking headroom :)

Ah I'd heard about voltage lock or something like that (I have the MSI board) but didn't really understand it and didn't even know about it when I bought the board. You learn something new every day :D
