New build spec please.

Hi all,
I'm thinking it's time I get a new build pc as my current spec is about 5 years old.
My main requirement is run quite smoothly for dual monitor set up with potential for triple monitor.
Gaming wise main games are games like rimworld (which I currently get a maximum 90tps during raids)
Project zomboid.
And whatever fps is flavour of the month.
Decent bit of storage too as on my current build of 256gb ssd and 1tb hdd im constantly out of space.
Budget wise I've put 2.5k aside. Will need a case too but have keyboard mouse etc.

5 years old? You may be able to re-use a lot, especially if it's a Ryzen build. Tell us your complete spec so we can help you better.

What are your monitors? Do you want to run your games across all three monitors or have one gaming monitor and two ancillary monitors?

off the top of my head I think 600w psu.
In all honesty if possible I would probably get a new spec rather than reuse parts as I will give the current PC to my niece / friend.

In terms of screens I will unlikely ever want it ran across three monitors. just One gaming monitor and two ancillary to keep stuff on view while gaming.

This is the lowest I'd spec for an upgrade.

Swap the 12400 for the 12600KF (should be a bit cheaper too), though you won't have the option of using a monitor with the onboard unless you buy a K or non-K CPU (F and KF have no graphics).
