all fans power up. then stop. then power up then stop

they run for about 2 seconds before shutting off then starting again

its a new mbrd/cpu/ram.. reusing a heatsink thats been used before

i tried:

New PSU
building it out side the case

thinking its a heatsink problem ?

help please
 
Try doing a CMOS reset and try with only one memory module installed.

Also is the extra 4 or 8 pin for cpu power installed.
 
Pretty sure it is the cpu power lead like rjc has mentioned as had the same symptoms with a build at the weekend after forgeting to plug it in.
 
same thing with one memory installed, yes cpu power is installed

will reset the cmos..

same thing with out the GPU

reset cmos, same thing

its this kit:

- CPU: Intel Core i5 4440 3.1GHz (3.3GHz Turbo) Quad Core
- Motherboard: Asus H81M-K Intel H81 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard
- Memory: TeamGroup Elite Black 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
 
i stripped it down and rebuilt it, worked for a bit.

was in the bios, left it running

now its doing it again :(

Wow: they got rid of the 0845 number, phone was answered straight away, really helpful on the phone.
