Hi,

I am thinking of doing a brand new build within the next month or so and was looking for some suggestions as to components to use.

The PC will be used a lot for burning CD's, Internet, Office and playing games as well. I have a 24" Dell monitor that I will be keeping along with the mouse, keyboard, speakers and don't need an operating system either.

I am happy overclock the system but my main concern is relating to hard drives. I don't really need huge amounts of storage space but I do want fast hard drives so any suggestions in relations to what you think would be best way to set the hard drives up and recommendations for nice fast drives would be appreciated :D

Only thing I think I have made my mind up over is the case. Looking at getting
Silverstone Fortress FT01B-W Tower Case

Was also think of getting an ATI 4870 graphics card.

So any suggestions/advice would be much appreciated. Just want a fast system for about £800 max-thats including the case.

Thanks for looking.

John

How does the above look :)

Cool-thanks for the suggestions. I've heard a few people say that the Asus boards aren't as good as the used to be so had been looking at Gigabyte boards again but happy to look at any suggestons.

Also, the har drive you picked is that know as a fast hard drive?

Thanks

I have the 320gb Samsung F1 and I had no problems and seems to one of my fatest drives I have had, I think these have a higher density disc or single platter, also the WD range is good.

Motherboard was / has been recommeded around here a lot, again Gigabyte boards are good, it's down to personal choice, started the ball rolling :)

Yip - thanks for the suggestions- it's good to get pther peoples suggestions. I had heard that the Samsung 1TB and the WD Blue 640 drivers were good but not sure. Always seems to be the hard drives that slow my systems down so that's why I really want to try and get the best combination.
