hi all i have another thread on the go regarding over clocking, but i also want to build a new computer, my question is what is the best AMD processor to buy as i have read that the fx series is not that good, and that a 965 phenom 2 look the best. I am after power for video hd editing and encoding.

many thanks

If you want it for gaming then it is best to go with an Intel build, they are much better than the AMD Bulldozer chips.

am i not better getting a i7 processor as im spending now or is there no point. just show how little i know about intel

I have done a second build with the 3770K cpu in my post above, the hyperthreading cores will help with performance.

Link below shows the rough performance difference between the older SB cpu's, the 2500K is 4 core and the 2600k has hyper threading.
