New build - switching on.......

Started to build the PC last night! It was carnage on a grand scale! Cut myself badly and bled all over the computer! The wiring looks like I have purposely tried to tie things in knots and make it look no swearing ! ...............beer and pc builds don't go together!!!

I think I have now got everything plugged into where it should go - apart from cable management, but have yet to switch on. Before I do, what things do I need to make sure I have done - are there any things you check just before flicking the switch? Don't want it to go bang !

Also, couple of quick questions....

I have the Silvertsone TJ-09 case - which is awesome - but there are an awful lot of wires coming out of it! At the top there are two - one called HD audio I think and AC 97 where do I plug these?

Does the case have a speaker ie for various beeps etc?

I have the X-fi audio card and it has various connections on the top of it - does anything need plugging into these? Didn't get any instructions with it?

Thermo sensors - I have a fan controller that monitors temps as well - where exactly do I stick the sensors? I thought graphics card, memory, CPU, HDD ? But where do I stick the sensors ie the graphics card (8800GTX) doesn't exactly have any visible chips etc where I could put it, the momory is covered by a heat sink, and I can't even get to the CPU due to the TT 120 on it! and where do they go on the HDDs ?

Thanks for any help! almost there!

The silverstone manual was a waste of space and didn't refer once to the cables etc.

The cables do not appear to go anywhere on the motherboard - will have another check (Asus P5N32 E sli).

No manual with sound card - it's not the one with the 5 1/4" part. I assume just shoving it in the pci slot is enough? It didn't come with any cables.

Thought it would be easier to monitor CPU temps etc if it is on the PC's front panel?

Cheers
