RIG:
Motherboard: MSI X870E Tomahawk WIFI
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9700x
GPU: Zotac 5060ti 16gb
RAM: 32gb GSkill Trident Z5 neo DDR5 6000 2x16gb
Cooling: Artic Liquid Freezer III Pro 240
PSU: Corsair Shift RM850x
Hope someboody can help as I am at a complete loss! I upgraded the above about 7 weeks ago and since the upgrade I have been experiencing regular system crashes. 98% of the time the crashes occur after quitting a gaming session.
The symptoms include: system freezes, black screen, unresponsive keyboard/mouse, inability to access Task Manager and inability to shut down, requiring a 'force shutdown'. I have also had instances where the graphics drivers have randomly uninstalled themselves. I have had only 2 instances of an in-game crash.
And then yesterday, perhaps unrelated, but the ethernet port 'died' and I was forced to redownload and reinstall the drivers from MSI's website.
The reliability viewer consistently shows the same 'hardware failures', in descending order of regularity: Live Kernal 141, 117 and Ib0. Internet research suggests that these errors can attributed to either the GPU or the PSU.
When I first updated I had kept my existing PSU, a 650x which partpicker did not flag as an issue but I upgraded to the 850x a week ago with no improvement. That has been only one of many attempts I have made to resolve the issues myself. Nothing I have tried courtesy of the internet has worked.
Remedies I have tried:
DDU'd the Graphic's Drivers
Clean install of the OS (Windows 11)
Physically uninstalled and reinstalled the components after checking for any obvious physical errors.
All drivers and BIOS fully updated.
All system temperatures well within tolerance, as of typing my CPU temp is 34 degrees and system temp is 30. Obviously that's under minimal load but even under gaming the temps are all registering 'normal'
There is NO system over-clocking, everything is at default settings and in the case of the RAM, underset to 4800 as I turned off the EXPO profile in BIOS!
Normal PC use is almost totally fine, i have had a couple of times when the screen has gone black for a few seconds but other than that, internet use, MS Office use, Netflix has all been fine. All of the above is happening upon quitting gaming.
Before I go down the 'replacement' route can anyone offer advice as to what I might have missed and indeed, what I should be replacing, the obvious, to my mind, is the GPU but oddly I am seeing no graphical issues in-game which would suggest a faulty GPU.................
Thanks in advance
