Hello everyone

I hope this is in the right forum.

I received my order from OCUK on Friday afternoon and finally got around to putting it all together this evening:

Phanteks Enthoo Pro M Glass Midi Tower Case - Black
KFA2 GeForce GTX 1060 EX OC 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Super Flower Leadex GOLD 550W Fully Modular '80 Plus Gold' Power Supply - Black
Samsung 250GB 750 EVO SSD 2.5
Asus Z170-K Intel Z170 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX Motherboard
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler
Kingston Fury Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C15 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black.
Core i5 6600K

I read the MB manual closely and followed a guide on Youtube too from a reputable US retailer. I was extremely cautious in assembling the new system.

However, on my test run, the system booted, fans worked, decorative light worked on the MB, everything seemed to work OK and on my screen, briefly flashed up an American Megatrends splash screen and then nothing, just blank.

I rebooted numerous times; occasionally I would get an Asus logo and a message in the top left while I couldn't read as it disappeared so quickly.

I've tried numerous things to solve this, including:

Removed and reseated memory in different slots or with just one stick

Removed CMOS battery

Followed the MB instructions for shorting the board and resetting the BIOS

Tried to use onboard graphics - DVI and VGA

I also installed my new gfx card and tried running it from HDMI

Reseated the CPU and heatsink; removed and reapplied thermal paste

Checked all psu leads and reseated them on the correct places on the MB.

I am at an absolute loss and really frustrated as I had hoped to get this set up tonight and enjoy some BF1 action tomorrow on my day off.

Can anyone please help?

Thanks for the quick replies. Yes computer stays on. Small hdd activity light flashes. are you thinking there may be a short hence running it outside the case?

Main mb and cpu power connectors properly plugged in.

Have read elsewhere it may be bios settings for this particular ram. It's suggested booting with one stick in B2 no gfx card and hopefully bios appears. I'll try the proposed solution in the morning.

So I eventually managed to enter the bios and update it too. That all went without a hitch but I'm having trouble now trying to install windows from a USB drive.

Problems all solved. Computer up and running.

Solution was to download the Win 10 creation tool again and followed the instructions. After a prolonged wait the setup box appeared and it's been plain sailing since.
