I think I have a system together that's going to be good.

Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor
Asus P8P67 DELUXE Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
GeIL 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz VALUE PLUS Dual Channel

Also buying a Thermalright HR-02 passive heatsink.

The only thing I'm worried about is when I go to overclock will the speed of the ram be an issue? Is there any advantage to going with faster ram, maybe something like 4 x 2gb modules that are rated @ 2000MHz?

I'm not looking to blow the side of my face in to a wall with the overclocking speed, just knocking it up to 4.5 would be fine with me. It's more about keeping the volts down and keeping the machine quiet but also performing well for video editing and photoshop etc.

Any suggestions on what to change or should I hit the buy button??

The 1600MHz RAM speed will not be an issue.

In fact, if you went for 4 sticks of 2000MHz RAM, then running all these modules will put more strain on the memory controller on the CPU.

May I ask why you are going with the Deluxe board? Have you considered just going for the PRO board? It does "proper" x8x8 CF/SLI and is £50 cheaper.

I didn't think the pro came with eSata but looking again it seems it's just been left of the list on the description page so I'll swap that over for the Pro.

ok, how about now. I'm really hoping the Noctua fits on the rig!

Long time reader, first time poster. @Mint_Sauce : Have you fitted the D14 yet? Interested to know if it fits on your configuration as I've spec'd something exactly the same except for the RAM.
I've also sent an E-Mail to Noctua asking if the RAM I chose (Patriot Xtreme 2000MHz) is compatible.
