I want to build a new PC at the end of this month but i'm a bit stuck on what to do. I've been pondering over either getting a 6700k or a 5820k. Reading about each, it seems the 6700k pulls ahead in almost every benchmark i've seen but it's not X99
Which is going to be the best this year with VR and stuff?
I won't use either to their full potential, but the odd occasion I will make a video and I understand that more cores is better for that but I do more gaming than anything video related. My thinking is that next year for Uni i will be doing a lot of CAD work (so i've been told) so the 5820K will help with the rendering side of things.
I want MATX but not sure what case, maybe a nice parvum!
I'll be using my PSU, SDD's etc from my current build.
This is my Skylake build.. 970 is a stop gap in both cases.
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £827.01
(includes shipping: £11.10)

Now the X99 seems to be pretty limited on MATX stuff which is a shame as I really don't want to have an ATX case on my desk. I love my little Evolv ITX at the moment.

There seems to be so many different opinions on both chipsets that i really can't make my mine up
