Ideally I want to stop using my (works) laptop for DJing with traktor scratch (i7 4gb Lenovo)

Since I have quite a few parts lying around I thought I would build a dedicated pc for the job rather than buy another laptop.

So i have available

CPUs, either i3 (can't remember model but 1155 socket) or a8-5600k
8gb ddr3
120gb ssd
24" 1080p monitor

I was considering a VESA mountable mini itx build

What case and psu would be suitable for the above?
Any motherboard recommendations?

Would also potentially need to power and external 2.5 HDR

I was planning on also mounting the monitor somehow on poles or a stand to slot into my mixers flight case at 90 degrees. Any idea how that would work with the VESA mount?

Cheers for ideas!

OK. Here is what I am proposing (once I have tried traktor on the i3 which is currently in my htpc)

i3-2105 65w tdp (already have)
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz (already have)
SanDisk Extreme SSD 120GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive (already have)
Asus P8H61-I, H61 Chipset, Socket 1155, Motherboard mini-ITX
Akasa AK-CCE-7106HP CPU Cooler for S775/1155/1156 Low Profile
Cypher AK-ITX-04BK Mini-ITX from Akasa with 120W PSU VESA Mountable

Sound reasonable/compatible?

Actually will need to swap out that case as it is thin mini-itx which means SODimms.

So will try akasa isk110 vesa (90w PSU)

Another case change
CiT MTX-007B Black Mini-ITX Case with 180W PSU

Still VESA mountable but with a higher W PSU and no power brick which is preferable
I'm sure for the price the quality is dubious but I won't be pushing it very hard.

It also opens up the option of using the 100W TDP A8-5600K so I will need to check if the application prefers better single core performance or will utilise all 4 cores more effectively

Build ended up as

A8-5600k with reference cooler
MSI A88XI AC AMD Socket FM2+ mini-ITX Motherboard
8 gb Gskill ddr3
SanDisk Extreme SSD 120GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive
CiT MTX-007B Black Mini-ITX Case with 180W PSU

Pretty straightforward built. Case is good value for the money and well laid out. It's a budget case though so need to bear that in mind.

And if anyone is interested tracktor scratch pro sits about 25-35% load on the system in either controller or DVS mode with multiple effects so very happy
