I built my first system about 6 weeks ago, which comprises of the following:
Asus P8H67-Evo motherboard
Intel 2500K
8GB Corsair XMS3 1333mhz RAM (2 x 4GB)
Corsair VX450 PSU
60GB OCZ SSD as OS drive
I added the following drives I had from my old PC which were wiped clean first:
500GB Western Digital as Media drive
250GB Samsung Spinpoint as Backup drive
Ever since I've built the PC, the first time I turn it on the mobo light comes on, the fans kick in and about a second later it all switches off again. After approximately 5 seconds or so, it then starts again on its own accord and kicks into life. If I restart it doesn't do it, only when its been shut down, and turned off for a while.
I've never experienced this behaviour before?? Should I be concerned my PSU or Mobo are faulty?
Today, I left the PC uploading some recent photos online. When I returned the system had frozen. I pressed the hard reset button (as nothing else would work) and when it restarted it came up with the "BootMGR is missing" error. I removed the SATA cables from all three HDD's. I replaced the SSD cable and tried again. It came on again as usual, so I replaced the other two SATA leads before restarting again. Its now back to normal and so I'm running a backup just in case its only a temporary thing.
Any suggestions as to what could have caused this freeze/bootMGR issue as well as the on/off/on problem would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks!
