Hi Guys
I built a computer yesterday however after setting it all up and installing Windows 7 Premium I seem to be unable to connect to our Network.
The order I installed things are
I installed the drivers from the mobo disc first. Then I installed the network card drivers (Network card is a Newlink PCI02). It found the card and a single network but not ours.
I then plugged in the Ethernet cable and it just had the little red cross by the wired network symbol. I checked the device manager and it didn't deem to recognise the Ethernet card driver. I then downloaded specifically the network driver from the asus website and when looking at the Ethernet it came up with some family network configuration message which seems a bit more promising but still didn't connect to the network as I would have expected.
I then plugged in the USB dongle. Installed the driver and it found the same single network as the pci network card. Usually when searching at our house we have about 10 available networks.
The router isn't really anywhere near where the pc will be located so a wired connection was only a temporary fix to get his game working.
For reference the specs are
Intel I3 540
Asus P7 H55-M
Sapphire 5830
