Hi

Just built a new PC, the essential specs are:

Asus P8Z68-V Pro
Core i7 2600k (at stock freq)
Kingston HyperX 4x4Gb
120Gb Vertex 3 latest firmware (system disk, plugged into 1st 6Gbs port of Intel controller)
5x2Tb western digital RAID5 (plugged into remaining 5 ports on same controller)

Running fresh copy of Windows 7 Ulimate SP1, with all updates applied. Only driver I used from the supplied Asus motherboard CD is the Intel LAN driver, the rest I used what Windows update gave me

I have an Asus 560Ti, but had the same issues even before I installed it, while using the integrated GPU.

Not overclocked yet, but often find that Windows, while it doesn't completely freeze, will just stop working. I'll see the spinny mouse pointer, and the task manager will refuse to open. The pointer can still be used to close windows, but can't be used on the start menu to open another program.

It's rather odd behaviour, and as it's a new build with all new components, at stock freq, with eveything on the latest drivers, I'm a bit lost on where to start!

I had the same problem, the blue pointer kept spinning. There is something still trying to load, be it software or hardrive. I put my OS disk in and booted into repair, fixed the problem. But i don`t have an ssd.
