Hi guys

Looking to build a system with my son. Build based on i5 3570k. He will use it for photo editing (Adobe lightroom) and web stuff. Only very light gaming.

I think he will need 8gb of ram and I have looked at the Asus P8Z77-V LX motherboard. He wants an ssd for windows and a 2 TB hard drive for storage,

Case needs to have good cable management and have plenty of room for expansion. Have looked at the Antec 300 Two and some Zalman cases.

Budget is about £800 or less, with a monitor.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

The choice of components is huge and my last and first build was a year ago and things move on fast.

That spec looks good. Many thanks.

Might need a slightly cheaper monitor and perhaps a lower spec graphic card. Any suggestions? As we wanted to keep it closer or under £800.

The case looks good, never considered that one.

Heard some folks have had "boot loop" problems with gigabyte and as I have a Asus board may use one of theirs instead.

Lots to think about.

Thanks for the info. Can you suggest a cheaper Graphics card ?

500 watt psu will be ok? He may want to add more hard drives for storage at some point.

Great help, thanks.

Hard to find a cheaper GFX card that doesnt make gaming suffer (you did say some/light gaming)

The 500W PSU is fine for that sort of spec PC+GFX card and extra storage ( it has 6 sata connectors in total)

He may not play games on it. But we just thought it would be good to have the option so a cheaper one might be fine ?

Yeah, or just use the CPU's built-in HD4000 GFX and the motherboard has 1 x D-Sub, 1 x DVI-D, 1 x HDMI, then add a GFX card later.

Is it easy to oc the i5 3750k on the Gigabyte board ? I know the Asus Z68 boards let you easily oc in the bios or in Win 7. Does the Gigabyte board have something similar.

I looked at the web page for the board and it's not clear to me !
