New build time for photography and video editing with some gaming thrown in for good measure! I think the bits i've chosen are good but I'm not sure if the Ram is going to work with the Noctua or even if the case is going to be big enough to fit it??

I'll be overclocking to around 4.5 - 4.8 ish I think.

Any feedback appreciated, thanks! :)

I'd swap your ram for this:
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-017-SA

I have it and its great RAM plus low profile so it fits nicely under the larger coolers... I've fitted the Corsair Hydro H80 and would have been in big trouble had I gone with any other ram!

What's your total budget by the way and do you need monitor, operating system etc?

Edit: Listen to Stulid he helped me spec my system recently and I am exceedingly happy with it!

Thanks both, should I go with Samsung green or Corsair low profile?

As for OS etc, I already have Win7. The build is a bit of a mash up of parts between myself and my wife, hence the very basic speakers for her build etc.

How does this now look, any room for improvement?

Again, £6 more gets 2 years extra warranty, a shiny retail box and a free intel heatsink, these will add value if you sell the chip on later.

Speakers, come'on you need a subwoofer...get a 2.1 setup.

oh, missed the CPU bit - will change that.

haha, it's true about the speakers but they're for my wife She has a Sonos in her office and only need the speakers to hear plinky plonky sounds from windows and also the occasional cat video on YouTube. :)

Apart from those bits, does it look like it's a goodun? Thanks again.

why not go for a coolermaster hyper 212 plus for a heatsink? It's far cheaper than a lot of other heatsinks but far more effective
providing it's good enough for to handle a 3770 cpu
I havent read much on the specs for that particular cpu but it handles a 2600k really well

Yeah, I have loads of good hard drives here as well as DVD Drives. The main things I'm worried about are getting a good CPU, RAM, motherboard with heatsink combo. The other parts I'm cool with for the most part. I've reduced the fans to 2, 4 is overkill as you said and I can always go back for more.

The adaptor is due to my wife having a laptop SSD and will need to put it in the case. I couldn't see anywhere where it said the case has a built in adaptor for 2.5 inch hard drives but I'm pretty good at missing the obvious sometimes. :)

Looks like the 212 is outta stock and I'd like to get this built asap.

Sweet, I skim read as I want to get this ordered for delivery tomorrow but I'll read it in depth. Thanks again for the help, very much appreciated!!!

theres no denying it that when you build that thing it will look excellent
