Currently thinking about Building a New PC for Gaming / Unreal Editor 4 and thought I`d see if there was a Better Option or Deal available for what I want.

Upgrading from

Athlon X3 3.1
8gb Avexir Core Red 1600mhz DDR3
Nvidia GTS 450 1024 Gddr5
1.5TB HDD Space Combined.

I am looking to get this

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 - AMD Pildedriver FX-8 8350 8 Core CPU & Motherboard Bundle
Inno3D GeForce GTX 960 iChill X3 Air Boss Ultra 2048MB GDDR5 Graphics
Avexir Core Red Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (+Current 8 Gig Kit making 16gb Quad Channel)
Corsair Builder Series CX 600w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply

Having seen the 960 vs 770 Results I`m Tempted to Swap out for one if its still on offer Wednesday.

Looking to spend around £600 at the most.

Any Suggestions?

What case will you be using?
Do you have an SSD at the moment also?

The 770 is only a weekend deal I believe so you'll have to order today for that price

What case+drives do you have?

Go Intel, better CPU performance.

The GTX770 is on offer this weekend, not weekly till wednesday.

Did you need a cooler?

I have never bothered using a Water Cooling kit before.
Just have the Corsair H40 Sealed Unit on my Current Processor

Use it if you still have the intel socket 1155/56 fittings which are the same for 1150, just add new thermal paste.

Yeah I keep Everything Including Original Packaging lol.
I like to keep it All Immaculate just in case.
Spare Parts always look Better in their Original Wrappers.

I`m Considering Changing to an Intel Chipset.
My very 1st PC was an AMD and I have Always used the same Brand Religiously.
Same goes for NVidia Brand Gcards :)

Intel will give you generally better performance + upgradeability :) So in the future you could drop in an i7 4770k or 4790k no problem and there's a performance boost - with AMD this isn't as much as an option as the highest end you can get is the 9590 which is barely better than the 8350!

Look at the anandtech link I gave you.

Better performance, less power usage and cooler.

The GTX770 is a faster card overall than a GTX960 hence why I picked it.

PSU looks really Nice.
Wasn't sure if I could run all of that on a 550w but good to know.

I was thrown off when I saw the GTX 770 Results.
Had my heart set on the 960 to find it has an Equal a couple series below it lol.
Thankful I didn't rush out and Buy it Friday lol

Yes you can run it from a good 550W

The Antec is made by Seasonic with a 5yr warranty.

The GTX770 has better memory bandwidth which is why its a bit quicker.

You could always also just use 8GB of RAM saving money, then put it towards a 970. will be a bit more future proof than the 960.

edit: Listen to Stulid, go to a 770 and swap to intel :D
