Hello,

Sorry this may seem a really silly question.

Hopefully going to start building my daughters new Christmas PC tomorrow, so thought I would spend this evening getting software prepped.

Just wondering the best way to go about installing a new copy of Windows 10 onto the machine? I was going to get the downloader tool onto a usb then get hold of a key.

Is this the best way to go about it or should I really be looking to do something else? Is there anything I need to do before installing Windows 10? (obviously build the PC :D)

Hope this sort of question is ok.

Thanks for your help

Hi Nutella33,

Thanks for the information. I think I have a couple of old laptops running windows 7 or 8, hopefully I will still have the keys so may give that a go. I downloaded windows 10 last night using the downloader tool. Can I just put that key in on the activation page?

Thanks again

Thanks Old School, I didn't even think to check out the tubers. I have done one via an old laptop I had, starting to think I threw the second one out . I did see a W7 key for £6 but I think it is OEM so probably wouldn't upgrade to 10 on my new build from what I am reading.

Django - on the link you posted do you just download the one you want? Not had a chance to look properly yet only on my phone.
