new build with 1080 ti SLI, should I go z270?

So I have two 1080 ti graphic cards.

and currently I have a E-ATX x99 motherboard and a i7 6900K.

I'm thinking about getting the z270 platform instead mainly because I need an atx motherboard for the new case I want, but also because I want an ekwb monoblock for the motherboard.

But now I got to the point where I am not sure what I should do..

I see on z270 my graphic cards can only run 8x/8x instead of 16x/16x I think so?

Help me out guys what should I do..
 
Going from X99 to Z270 is more of a side grade. If I were you I'd be looking at X299. Even then gains will be minimal.

The majority of Z270 will only do 8x/8x because of the CPU, unless like my board, it has a PLX chip.

Are you 100% sure that your new case won't support your board? What case is it?
