So I ordered my PC a little while ago with some delivery problems which delayed it and when it finally arrived I rushed to put it together.
I used an anti static wrist band to avoid damaging my components and then when i put it together for my bare-bones test the computer would not boot.
I have only my CPU (i5 3570k) Heatsink (Alpenfohn K2 Mount Doom) One stick of 4GB Samsung Ram and my PSU (EVGA 750W 'Plus Gold') on my motherboard (Gigabyte Z77X-D3H). So when i make the connection between the power button pins the fans come on briefly for like a second but nothing else happens, and then after that if I try to power it on nothing happens until i turn my power supply off and leave it for a few seconds.

My initial thoughts were that the motherboard was faulty but it is showing the green light which is meant to mean that it is ok?
My power supply is giving power briefly and usually if a power supply is not working it will not give any power at all? And i do not have access to a multimeter to be able to test it unfortunately.
I also do not have any spare parts to be able to test it. So if anyone has any ideas of what is wrong and how to fix it please tell because I really need help here. Ill be able to answer all questions given.

I assume all power connections are connected including 8 pin for cpu power.

Try a trusty CMOS reset and try with 2 memory modules (some boards are fussy on what slots are used)

Ok done that and it made no difference?
Could it be anything to do with CPU or Heatsink?
I Have taken everything out and put it back in apart from the CPU so should i try that?

Ive done that now, from what i can see there are no bent pins.
I know something is wrong either CPU, Mobo or PSU but I cannot figure out what, which is annoying as I don't want to have to return 3 things for 1 broken component.
So frustrating :(
