I'm attempting my first ever build, which has been beset by problems. When I switch on I get debug code 34 on the mobo (CPU post memory initialisation) and no signal to the monitor. I have taken off the GPU and I can now get into the bios, although code 34 still shows on the mobo.

So now I'm in the BIOS but haven't installed the OS yet. What should I do????

System details are below.

I could be wrong here, but the error code would seem to be suggesting that the problem lies with the memory controller on the cpu or maybe system ram.Check the cpu is seated correctly, and also check for mis aligned pins in the cpu socket.Try booting with just one memory stick in the first slot and see what happens.

Yep, this dosent sound like a GPU problem at all. If it was borked you probably wouldnt be getting any display at all, let alone able to get into the BIOS. What are your memory timings set to?
