Hi i got all the parts installed on my new build.
I was worried that i may of done someting wrong so i took it to $% ^%$£
to give it the once over to see if i done everything correctly. I just got a call
to say everything was installed fine but it didnt boot up. It powered on for a
second then went off again. They told me its 95% shore its the motherboard.
Is it a simple replacement or is there anything i can do as they told me they cant change it over to check as they have none others around.

Why on earth would you do a think like letting a bunch of monkeys look at it for a hell of a lot of money when you could do it yourself?

I dont want to be like some and turn it all on for it all to go up in smoke.
This was a first time even tho i have done most things other then a full build before.

If you've done work inside the case before then a complete build isn't too hard mate. I'd say it was the motherboard too, but unless you've got it there and can do some step by step things then you can't be too sure.

Also, edit the name of the reseller out as competitors of OCUK aren't allowed on these forums.

Picked it up last night at did a little bit of testing. I got it to boot Straight away by removing 1 stick of ram so the reports about them being a bunch of monkeys are true. Only problem i have now is the hd didnt come with a power cable so i got to pop down the shops later and get one of them. I have a fancy razor keyboard that i plugged into the pc but after a second the power went out on it. Is this just because the bios havent been set-up or something to do with the weird keyboard. I used the old ps/2 keyboard and all worked fine. I have no idea about setting up bios so some help would be good.

Thanks

Told ya mate, you paid good money to them for them to give you false information! As for the keyboard, there's an option in the BIOS to allow USB at boot up or similar.

And what do you mean the HD didn't come with a power cable? The power cable comes of the PSU... Or do you mean that you've got a SATA HDD and only MOLEX power leads? If so then you need a MOLEX - SATA power converter, cheap enough.

Was funny in the shop tho everyone loved the box and components lol.
Some guy in the network help section kept asking questions about all the stuff and where i got it from. was amusing
