Hi
just built this today and when i try and boot the mobo lights up and gives a post code 01 (expand the xgroup codes locating in physical address 1000:0)
I just dont get what this means and the mobo manual is of little help.

No fans comes on and the psu justs makes a clicking sound.Hyper type r 580 working fine yesterday.
Have tried memery in diff slots tried 1 stick at a time, the cmos just is in right place and the cmos switch on the back is in correct position.
Any ideals anyone please.

sata 2 320 gig hd
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz
Abit IP35 Pro Motherboard
OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz SLI-Ready Edition Dual Channel DDR2
Antec Twelve Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case(wow)
GeForce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/DVI (PCI-Express)
Tuniq Tower

ok allways start with basics make sure verything is seated in its slots properly.

also hjave you plugged in the extra cpu power connect probably a square 4pin thing. that is often missed. i know i have odne it.

everthing seated ok tried with a new psu now 750 tough power mobo lights up post code 01.no sign of life from the new psu no fans coming either..Tried the memory 1 stick at a time in diff slots.

hmm strange,

i wonder if this could be the old ram voltage porblem.

i notice the ram you have is rated at 2.1v to 2.4v most mother board by default set themselves to 1,8v wich may not be enouigh to kick the ram into life. this was a very common problem.

do you have any other ddr2 ram ?

pressing the powerswitch on the mobo and the machine now boots yippee. The bad news is the power button on the antec1200 is not working worse still the top of the case has rivets on and is impossile to get off.
So now i have 2 choices every time i put the pc on i have to remove side case and press the onboard power switch,or send the case back, yipes that will not be cheap, dont suppose overclockers will send me a new one and pick up the faulty one...

yeah check the switch connection they are only a 2pin a fair and noremally very easy to get on wrong way or on wrong pins. unless the antec 1200 has some sort of conector block.

Yes the power header has been tried both ways and finally i got a m8 round with a multitester and the powerswitch is dead. The top of the case is riverted on and impossible to get to the powerswitch..

And, for a switch you could use the a ps2 keyboard and the settings in bios for say, the spacebar to power up the machine instead.
