new build wont boot

just finished building my new build, Everythings connected in the right place,

It powers on but doesn't load into bios boot. I've tried placing 1 stick of ram in the first slot and trying to boot

Cpu is generating heat so thats working, power supply is working as its providing power to the motherboard and disk drives.

theres some lights on my mother board that says the cpu is running at 100% and so is the north bridge

my spec is

i7 950 not overclocked.
Corsair Dominator 6gb dd3 1600mhz
gigabyte x58 UD3R
Radeon 5770 vapor-x DDR5

I had done the same, I always learnt to put them closest to the CPU, but manual says opposite,

That still hasn't fixed it though, And 8pin is deffinatly connected. It has a CMOS reset on the back as theres a button feature. however this hasnt solved it, and I dont have a jumper to test it out that way

Fixed it in the end , The extension for the GFX power was broke.. I replaced the cable and it worked fine
