New build wont boot

Cant get my pc to boot. Asus P8Z77-V LX 1155
CPU and large 24 pin connectors are plugged in

Celeron Cpu is installed correctly

Have tried single 4gb Ram stick in all slots

Have tried using a different Psu that fully works in my other pc

Have touched power sd header with screw driver

Have took motherboard out of the case

Resat Cpu and fan header is connected

Motherboard displays green light and doesnt boot at all. Fans dont even spin or anything

Motherboard faulty?

12v motherboard plugged in also as well as the 24 pin? usually just above the cpu socket just to the left

Yes mate, they where the first two things I connected. Other known working psu doesn't make any difference either

Yo could try unplugging everything then plugging it all in again and see if that works? Maybe one of the wires are loose or something?

Av orderd a different motherboard and will test tomorrow tomorrow. Will rma this one me thinks

No not at all. Just displays a green power light

Put the CMOS battery out for a few minutes. Make sure it's fully powered off first. See if that makes it boot. Report back

anychance you can list all your parts? make/model of cpu/memory/psu

tried building outside of the case on wooden or cardboard surface to rule out any possible shorts (edit I see you've tried that)

Kind of an obvious question but.. you have connected the power switch to the correct pins on the motherboard, yes? Those things are darn fiddly and easy to mistake or plug into the wrong pins. Not that I've done anything like that.

Weird spec, I'd definitely try a different motherboard.

Are you sure you're rigged the power switch to the right pins? You could have attached it to the power light pins rather then the power on pins.
