Hi All,

Just received my new parts and put them all together but i cannot get the system to post.

Specs as following,

i7 6700K
Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 5
16gig Corsair Vengance LPX 3000 DDR4
Evga 650 G2.

I have built the system up bare minimum and it will not post. It gives a post error of 55 with 5 long beeps then reboots. Tried 1 stick of ram in all 4 slots but no go. Doing some reading this board seems to have issues with ram and it looks like i'm facing them.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Look in the motherboard manual and it will tell you what stage it stops at so you can check that part of the hardware. 55 is below from page 43 of the manual.
50~55 Memory initialization error occurs
So points to an issue with your RAM as you indeed said. You need to get some RAM that is known to work okay with that board or you may have faulty RAM.

Also looks like the latest F5 BIOS addresses RAM "Improve DDR XMP compatibility" so they knew it was a problem and have tried to fix it. Just bad luck you
chose RAM it doesnt like.

Yeah i saw that which leads me to believe its something to do with the RAM. The difficulty now is trying to find a DDR4 module i can test with to see if i can boot it to the bios to flash :-/

The thing is the ram is listed on the compatibility list on gigabytes site. I would find it strange for 2 sticks to be faulty. I could understand if its one.
