Hey guys, so here's where I'm at. Ordered a few new parts to build my new PC

ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Performance LGA 1155
Intel Core i5-2500K
G.Skill RipJawsX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
HIS ATI Radeon HD 6950 IceQ X Turbo 2048MB

Problem is it won't post, Dr. Debug gives me error message 0d which apparently means my ram is not compatible with the BIOS version on the mobo. What I'm wondering is this, is there any way to flash the BIOS by some alternate means? Obviously I can't see the screen to flash it normally :( Or should I just return the ram and go for a different make?

Any help is much appreciated! Cheers.

Edit-

Forgot to mention I am using my old Huntley 650 PSU

Right. Toughy if you cannot flash!

Load up with one stick of memory in and see if that has any effect. Also make sure you have the memory installed correct and in proper dual channel mode. usually either A1 and B1 or A2 and B2 or sometimes like my system A1 and A2 or B1 and B2. Depends on what you motherboard likes. Have a fiddle around and see which dimms etc likes the configuration of the memory.

If you can get into bios. Get a pen drive, go to the ASRock website, download the latest bios on someone elses pc, then get into your bios and flash it. It seems daunting when it says deleting BIOS, this freaked me out the first time I did it, but it will install new one and you should be fine. Flashing the bios is as easy as installing new memory for an upgrade these days.

Also, if you think that your memory is not compatible check the memory support list here with the serial/manufacturer code of your memory to make sure it is listed. Not all memory is listed here, but usually memory of 1600mhz will go into any DDR3 system.

The only other explanation is that the memory is dead, which is very unlikely that this is the case. Maybe try the memory in a friends computer and see if that works.

Anything else?

Hope this helps!

Also try a CMOS reset, I would be very surprised that ram would not work. Problem with the memory support list on manufacturers website they don't update all time.

Very true about manufacturers not updating their lists. New memory comes out every month by different brands, different speeds and different latency times so it is very difficult to keep up with it!

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll definitely try them out. Have some work deadlines coming up so had to revert to my old build. Weird thing with the ram was it looked like it had been opened and returned to the packaging, there was a big tear along the package. Although unexpected I trust OCuk so don't think they would ship me faulty ram, but who knows :p
