Hi Guys

Just want to check I havent missed anything obvious.

Im building a little bitfenix prodigy setup based on a FM2 itx.

To cut a long story short, it wont post. No noises, beeps etc, but the fan does fire up.

Ive got it down to the mobo or CPU, and im using the following:

FM2-A75IA-E53 (new)
AMD 750k (bought on MM here)

Ive tried different ram and power to isolate those as well as using vga and HDMI just to make sure :) Also tried re-seating the cooler and checked the pins on the CPU, which all appear fine.

Any ideas gents?

Im assuming you plugged the 4pin cpu connector in ? :D I would also just double check that the ram is properly seated and go over any other connectors i.e hard drive, optical drive etc

It may be a case the motherboard may need a BIOS update to work with the CPU.

I assume you have the extra 4 pin for cpu power connected.

Yeah, mobo says it works with the cpu

4 pin connector was connected yeah :)

No optical drives etc, made sure it was bare minimum. Tried another good PSU and tried two other sticks of ram in different slots... same result.

:(

bah you have to admit it....we wont laugh honest we have never done anything stupid while building a PC Honest *hides in a corner :)

Well...

When it first didnt work with the gfx card in, I stripped everything off bar the minimum. So, psu, ram, mobo and cpu... using the onboard vga.

However, I assume the mobo doesnt actually have onboard graphics but uses the chip gfx, which the 750k doesnt have :)

Thats my theory anyway :)

So you tried to boot your pc up without your graphics card and without the processor having any onboard GPU? :P hah.

I've done that, my pc booted fine but i was worried when my display wasnt giving any feedback, only to realise my processor didnt have integrated GPU and motherboard had no visal outputs \:
