Hi all,

Literally just put together my new build but there is no power coming through. It's a Corsair AX650, mobo is a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H.

I'm pretty sure it's the PSU but just wanted to check there was no other tests I can do.

- Absolutely no response when pushing the power button (no fans, no post, no lights)
- No LED's or lights on the mobo (don't even know if it has any)

I have

- Used different power cables and wall sockets.
- Tried turning the PC on by shorting the power button pins rather than using the power button.
- Tried the paperclip test and got nothing (although I don't actually have anything plugged in but th GFX and a few disk drives)

So, dead PSU or a few more items I need to do? WOuld I get some kind of resonse from the system if it was another part broken?

Thanks!

Try the paper clip test with the PSU totally removed from the system and just attach a fan or two to the Molex connectors. If it won't spring to life then it's probably a DOA PSU. It happens.

:)

Just to make sure - the switch on the PSU itself is on yes? Silly question but more often than not it's simple things rather than dead components. But you sound like you've done a pretty robust set of checking. Could be the motherboard rather than PSU. Can you test with alternative equipment?

Hey all, was a PEBCAK error :)

One of the bits of the PSU 10 pin connector was wonky so it wasn't pushing in completely.

Up and running now :)
