New build - won't show a picture

Hi,

Just set up my HTPC.

Pressed the on button, system turns on, cpu fan spinning, LED light D17 whatever that means. No picture, through HDMI or DVI.

I've tried unplugging everything, still nothing. No beeps coming from anywhere either.

Any ideas?

Just had a look at the power connector on my HTPC case (brand new). Is this normal? Could it be anything to do with the problem?

Does anyone have any idea if that ATX power thing is standard or not? I've got an RMA on the Zotac for tomorrow and don't want to be charged if it turns out to be ok.

I'll call round a mates this evening and test the RAM out, meanwhile, any ideas?

Just an update..All 3 of the people I went to see had DDR3 RAM!

I tested everything out again, this time plugging a speaker in to listen for beeps. No beeps, nothing. Just spins up and 'acts' like it's working.

As I say i've RMA'd the motherboard. The RAM I bought for it was recommended on the site i bought it from when I went to purchase and is definitely of the correct speed etc..what's the likelihood that they're incompatible? Next to nothing?

Would the fact that there were no beeps whatsoever hint at the mobo being the problem?
