new build wont start

evnin all.

got a spec together to build for a mate, built it tonight. bloody thing wont start.

i mean nothing at all.

at 1st i thaught psu so he had an old hp psu lying around so with just the mb and the case power switch, i tried it and still nothing.

iv got it home with me now so tommorow i will strip mine down and start going through parts to find the problem but in the mean time what is everyones gut feeling?

absolutely nothin mate.

tried with just the cpu still nothin, was goin to try the paperclip trick tommorow to rule out the psu for definite. im leaning more towards the mb being completly doa.

Check that the case on/off button is connected (wires to the button).

Some of the reviews say that it is not connected.

spot on mate.

pulled the front pannel off and there it was 2 plugs.

the most annoying part is i had the front pannel off to fit the dvdrw and didnt even notice.

anyway cheers for the help.

Its so easy to get ahead of yourself when doing a new build and overlook something simple as all you want to do is get it up and running , and see what she can do :)
