Hi

I'm building a new system primarily for gaming and Photoshop, I have 2GB OCZ DDR2 PC2-4200 533Mhz Gold GX XTC Dual Channel kit which I bought for my old P4 system as an upgrade and will use that for now if it's ok! However I would like to get the best I can for my new system build for optimum performance, I would also like to have a go at overclocking my CPU to 3.0ghz (ish), it'll be my 1st attempt at an overclock so I'll be looking at you guys/gals for some mentoring;)

So I guess the question is will the OCZ memory I already have be ok for just getting my system up and running? and secondly which other memory would you reccomend using the components listed below?

Q6600 G0
Arctic Freezer 7 Pro
Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus
600w OCZ Stealth Xstream PSU (I bought for my old P4 system to run the OC card)
Antec 900 Case (w/ an additional 120mm side panel fan)
2 x BFG 8800GT's

Thanks in advance

If you're gonna be overclocking, stay away from an Nvidia chipset. Instead, go for something like this:

Solid boards and overclock well. Also, you'll probably want some faster RAM than that, some Ballistix 8500 would do nicely.

Nowt wrong with the 680i mate :D

It doesn't like ballistix over 800MHZ though :)

I went for the Nvidia chipset soley because I already had one 8800GT GFX card that I used to upgrade my old P4 system and it was easier/cheaper to go with SLi option, rather than pay out for an additional 2 x ATI cards and go xfire, overclocking was really only an after thought, however the temptation has now got the better of me:D
