Bonjour :D

I'm after a new upgrade. just a CPU, MB, RAM, GOOD cooling fan, & a CARD
I play on a 22" screen with 1680x1050 & 1920x1080 with 16xaf & 4aa everything maxed out.
I've chosen the AMD Phenom II X3 Tri Core 720 Black Edition (clearly for game reason nothing else, and it's cheap )
and the Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P (Socket AM3) MB.

Would it make a lot of difference going for the 4870 X2 2048MB over the 4870 1024MB v, for what i want it for ?
And could you chose the right ram i should be going for please.
i only used vista 32bit. (does me fine). so shall i go with the 2G or 4g, knowing it only uses 3G on vista 32bit :( will that extra 1G make a difference?

Thankyou.

Why not go for the X4 phenom?

As for the graphics card, if you are planning on OCing your CPU quit high, then definetly go for the 4870X2, but the stock 2.8 will bottlneck the card

And the kingston RAm there is for the Intel X58 boards as its triple channel

Oh right lol durr
Well no point getting the x4. more money, and the x3 will match it in games.
I won't be using the other core at all, as it's just a gaming rig.
But then again, knowing my luck, there starting bringing games out that use 4 cores :o what ram should i go for ?

P.s, what would bottlneck do then ? slow games down ?

My mate said, you may as well pay the extra for the 4x:p as i won't be upgrading for at least 3 years.

So out of these 2 rams, what should i go with. i take it i should be looking at getting the 1600mhz ram ?
Anyone got same kind of setup ?
