One of my mates has asked to build him a pc.

Any chance of a quick spec, mostly for gaming. Looking at spending circa £5-600. Needs everything with that aswell.

I can't really talk, mine is over budget:

Will play games nice tho.
Btw - get the Windows 7 release candidate as the OS.

D'oh! thanks for pointing out the missing card andi.

I would go with andi's spec, but if your mate can stretch a little more then it would be better in the long run if he had an AM3 system, it would be more 'future proof'.

Agreed, if your friend can stretch the budget a bit then the AM3 board and AMD X2 550 that Icey specced are brilliant and much newer, longer lasting tech. Also, an upgrade to this card would give a nice performance jump too.
