Thank You for the quick reply
i am going to wait for a bit to see if i get anymore specs posted before i start
to work it all out

The above spec is good but change that HD5870 with this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-214-AS longer warranty and better overclocking due to its "Tweak Voltage" feature. The ram with this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-042-GS lower timings are essential in an AM3 based setup especially if its with a PhII CPU.The mobo to this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-230-GI.1 extra PCI-E slot and has USB 3.0 and SATA III thus making it more future proof. You could also change the cooler to this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-000-CI its cheaper and cools a little bit better than the H50.http://www.kobaltcomputers.co.uk/fo...-A.L.C.-Corsair-H50-Comparison-Review&p=16856 (scroll down to the bottom of the page). Also I'm sure that a case under 100 quid will do you just fine. There are a lot from which you can choose.

As RJC said its a matter of personal choice but you should also take in consideration things like cooling capabilities and cable management features.

With that budget I honestly wouldn't be looking at anything less than an i7 rig UNLESS you intend on buying into the new 6-core AMD CPUs due out rather soon.
A full i7 rig is quite achievable with that budget in my mind, but I'll just post what's sat in my basket at the moment which will be a very capable machine, but you can change things like GPU to a better one, possibly add a SSD and change the case.

As I say, I've simply put this here just to show what you can get for a lot less than maximum budget :)

Unfortunately Bjn that motherboard is pants.

Doesn't do proper crossfire, its 4X for the second slot@

you could get a SSD if you liked and maybe changed a few things around. I was guessing you didnt have a screen/ or a 1080p one since you havnt built a pc in 5 years.
