3 Monitors...

And i dont see much use in me getting a better motherboard... I need a miniATX so it's never going to be the best mboard... Unless there's a real reason why i should get a better one?

+Edit+

Basically my current rig has died.. Motherboard.. so thought i'd take this opportunity to do an overhaul... I haven't got time to be fiddling with overclocking or nothing so i've just decided to go for top end cpu and gpu... and make use of eyefinity :)

So you're doing three separate builds, and you only need one graphics card? Correct?

Edit: Okay, so you're going to utilize Eyefinity.

You won't need three computers to run all that :) It's done through one computer and one graphics card.

I think he's doing one build, which would mean all he needed was SLI GPU's no? Not 3 motherboards...

You do realise the 5970 is massive, so if you only have space 4 a miniATX how will you hav space 4 a 5970...
Your answer to the reason of having 3 mobo's is to run 3 monitors? Im confused greatly.

Copy and paste fail on my behalf.. Only purchasing 3 monitors :)

I'm using a antec p180 mini as a case.. It has plenty of room for the gpu with the lower HDD cage removed... Should fit in there with a good 2" of room left...

Could run 3 monitors off of one 5970 with EyeFiniti.

So long as one is connected via Display Port.

Also, if you have a microATX case you'll need to check you've got the 12" of clearance for the 5970. (ETA - k, you've checked :p)

Maybe get an SSD instead of one of the HDDs?

Yeah it's got the 12" clearance :)

Have i understood it correctly i will need either a Active DP>DVI or DP>VGA... I'm edging more towards VGA as it's much cheaper... and if im right the VGA adaptors supports the 1080 resolution?
