finally got round to getting a new set up sorted ,

i kept my existing ram , case , drives etc

and went for a Gigabyte X58A UD5, Intel I7 950 and a Thermalright Hr02 with a scythe S flex 1600rpm fan.

the crucial realssd i was using now flies on the sata 6g interface and the ram clocks like a dream also , all in all a very good upgrade

what should my idle temps be btw , mine are currently around 43 , but dont ever hit 80 when on prime or linpack etc is this acceptable ?

few pics - still a bit of tweaking to do

Update

Finally got my finger out and ordered the rest of the bits on my wishlist, i had a few problems gettig the realssd to boot in the hotswap bay ,
after messing a few things about i have come to the conclusion the small PCB on the back of the hot swap bays does not like SATA6 devices , so i have now the ssd hidden behind the side panel in the meantime - i will take a look at other options when i get a chance .

First impressions ,very quiet and very cool runnning ( 5 degrees idle off my antec900.1 with some of the fans on full on the antec) and I still havent applied my new TIM , so im using Gelid GC-2 as usual.

Very easy to make a tidy job of it and it makes my motherboard and HR02 look tiny compared to other cases.

The Psu came very well packaged and the bag for the cables etc was a nice touch , every cable is modular also (Y)

any how a few pics of the work ( i havent benched or gamed etc yet)

Thanks for looking
