do you need windows professional? home edition is lots cheaper.

150gb velociraptor? just buy a 60ish GB SSD, you got a 1TB for storage.

12GB of ram? whats this pc to be used for?

invest in a quality PSU. a Corsair CX430/500 will be perfect.

I don't know much of SSD - are they as quick, and reliable as normal HDD's and the 10k rpm?

It will be used for a few games, images / movie editing and various VMware stuff.

Will check out the CX range :)

Will overclockers build it up at an additional price do you know?

Thanks

your spec should look more like this.

overclockers wont build it for you, they sell their own range of pre-built pc's, but people on these forums will hold your hand through the building process.

a SSD will dump on that velociraptor from a great height, no moving parts make them even more reliable than a mechanical disk drive.

invest in a better psu like the ones mentioned.

An SSD is great to be used with some games, your OS and any programmes you frequently use.

Ok i've got the same as what you suggested, but with win7 prof and an extra set of RAM. Makes the total £1,100.

Looks like this is what I will buy, thanks for your help. :)

I suppose the extra ram will help with video editing, still not convinced you need win7 pro?

that graphics card I linked to is on the front page as a special offer today only, if your not ordering today, the card will go back up in price, at which point you should spec a GTX460 instead as its the better option.
