Hey again,

A couple of weeks ago I posted asking about a new build and I was informed to wait for SB release finally its here.

I mainly use my computer for gaming and browsing with a bit of photo/video processing. After reading a lot of the posts here by other people hoping to find out which parts to select I have become completely confused and indecisive.

I do not need a HDD,CD-Rom drive,mouse,keyboard or monitor.

My budget is around £1000

This is what I have chosen so far but not a GFX card as I am not sure about which one to select? I currently have the i5 2600k selected because I read in other threads that if the main use is gaming then the i5 is a better choice?

I am not a huge enthusiast of overclocking but this could be a possibilty in the future which is why I chose the K version and a p67 mobo which im hoping I havnt read this wrong and i actually need the other versions.

I chose 8gb of ram as I currently have 4gb and would like a little bit more :)

Is the PSU I have chosen good enough? I know its the high end gfx card that need the most power but lets just say I did get 1 580 would this be enough to power it? or do I only need this kind of PSU if I go SLI/Xfire?

Thanks

Yeah itd be fine, for SLi 580s youd need 1000W, Id change it though to the 650W Antec one which is modular, still enough power but will make your case neater and tidier, do you need the extra features the Deluxe board offers you over the other boards?
And yes youre right to stick with the i5

why is the Antec 650w better?im not very good at picking PSU's. Probs dont need the extra features the deluxe board offers il swap it out for the normal one.

thanks for the quick reply

EDIT: Which version of the MOBO should I change to?

More reputable brand, better reviews and efficiency.

I can't answer the mob question - I'm not keyed up on SB mobo's yet :p

ok so I wouldnt be better off selecting a Corsair PSU? one of the TX ones.

if anyone wants to put a build together as a suggestion thats appreciated too.

Thanks

Yeah, thats the one.

I would get the 6950 and flash it to a 6970 - a faster card than the 560 based on indicated performance figures.

Yes, 650W will be more than enough :)

thanks for the quick reply

that was what I was thinking with the 6950 as I had seen this said in other threads.
