Well just ordered this, only getting back into gaming now after having a year out. The only reason I've went to the Q series CPU is becasue i loved my Q6600!!

Obviously I'll upgrade soon once i know I'll actually be using it.

Thoughts?

You are buying a whole new system and you went with Q8400 and a G31 for a gaming system?

What was your budget, you could have afford to go with Intel SB which is a pretty quick chip and is newer tech.

I'm with everyone else. I thought uhoh when I saw the processor and motherboard, and when I saw the price, it scared me a tiny bit, lol.

Do go for AMD (Phenom II / Athlon II) or Sandy Bridge, you will be happy you did.
